Designation : UI SD/ SSD/ LSD/ PSD
Location : Gurgaon/ Chennai Experience : 5 - 12 years
Digital & Engineering Services (D&ES) is a recently formed start-up like organization in order to ramp up capabilities in Digital, Agile, CRM and Continuous Delivery. Hence, this is a great opportunity to work in the Digital Platform team, which is an eCommerce start-up like environment with best of both worlds: agility and innovation of a start-up, with benefits and stability of a large MNC like RBS.
JD: Specialist area:
* Interface development within major client projects
* Interpret business, functional and UX requirements
* Apply best practices and standards ensuring the quality of all client side code - HTML5, JavaScript, CSS
* Create the standards and strategy for front-end development including mark- up standards
* Translate Wireframes & Photoshop designs into functional HTML/CSS/JS
* Delivering artefacts to server-side development teams to implement server-generated web pages
* Liaising with the business where necessary to communicate concepts and solutions
* Provide insight and feedback to UX & Designer on usability and feasibility of interface designs.
* Comply with Bank standards and established processes
Responsibilities:
* Analysis, design, code reviews, task estimation, meeting timelines, testing, mentoring, taking part in recruitment activities, code implementations, participates in stakeholder communication.
* To ensure consistency of technology usage across a programme, by continuously reviewing existing toolsets and code, suggesting re-use of components and ensuring the design of new components allows for potential reuse.
* To ensure decisions related to own area of responsibility are taken promptly and effectively while displaying a mature understanding of commercial awareness.
* Liaising on a regular basis with all relevant Program/project representative
Essential experience:
At least 5-12 years of experience in web development and have varied portfolio of work to show for it.
* Experience designing interfaces for complex data rich applications for use in high performance environments.
* Excellent knowledge of the wide range of issues that affect client side development such as cross-browser issues, search engine optimisation, usability, web standards
* Leading edge knowledge in emerging technologies
* Proven track record of successfully designing web as well as desktop application interfaces.
* Experience working in an Agile environment
* Interaction design skills + eye for design
* UI design skills, wire framing
* Experience of code refactoring, design patterns, design driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, application security
Competencies:
Essential:
* Expert knowledge of standards compliant HTML 5 APIs, CSS2/3 and OOJS
* Experience with Modular JS and JS Design Patterns
* Deep understanding of both progressive enhancement and AJAX-based single page application build using MVVM and/or MVC based frameworks
* Experience with working with RESTful or SOAP based web services, JSON/ XML etc.
* Experience with common JavaScript libraries like D3, jQuery, underscore etc.
* Should follow JS best practices i.e. performance optimization, debugging etc.
* Awareness of CSS implementation differences between browsers
Desirable:
* Experience with at least one server side scripting language
* Experience with AngularJS , Jasmine, AMD, Bootstrap, SASS/LESS, and frontend workflow system like Yeoman
* Working knowledge of server side technologies and how they should integrate with the user interface.
* Experience in working with a development team using either the Java or Microsoft technology stacks.
* Has the ability to grasp complex problems and understand code that has been written by other developers
